Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What kinds of clients do you work with?
I work with individual adults and couples navigating questions of identity, spirituality, religious trauma, gender-affirming care, and deeper self-understanding. Many of my clients are LGBTQ+ (not exclusively!), exploring their faith or belief systems, or seeking a more liberatory approach to life and healing.
What therapeutic approaches do you use?
My work is primarily shaped by psychoanalytic thinking, meaning we explore not just what’s happening now but the deeper patterns, emotions, and experiences that have shaped your story. I also draw on relational, queer, decolonial, feminist, and anti-racist frameworks..
I've also been trained and supervised in other modalities that have shaped my work. These include Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR). At times, I weave interventions and language from these other modalities—especially when it's useful to slow down and connect more somatically.
Do you offer in-person or virtual therapy?
Yes. I offer both in-person therapy in New York City and online therapy for clients in New York and Florida. I practice at the Psychotherapy and Spirituality Institute in downtown Manhattan near the Seaport.
How do I know if therapy with you is the right fit?
Therapy is most effective when you feel understood and supported. I offer a free 20 minute consultation to explore your needs, my approach, and whether working together feels right. At any time, you’re welcome to discuss ending therapy — I view endings as an important part of the process, not a failure.
What are your fees?
For individuals, $250 for a 45-55 minute session
For couples, my fee is $275 for a 50-55 minute session
A limited number of sliding scale slots are available.
Do you accept insurance?
I offer telehealth through Headway where I am credentialed with Aetna. You can verify your insurance directly through Headway. Please note that I have a very limited number of Headway appointments available.
Do you have out of network benefits with your health insurance? If so, I can provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement if your insurance plan covers this. I also work with Thrizer, a payment app for therapy-goers that makes out-of-network therapy more accessible. Individuals can use Thrizer to pay what they owe for out-of-network therapy instead of paying my full fee and waiting for insurance reimbursement.
Do you offer training or consulting?
Yes. I provide training and consultation for therapists, individuals, and organizations seeking to integrate gender-affirming care and spirituality into their work. My background in pastoral ministry includes teaching, preaching, group facilitation, and community leadership.
