Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What kinds of clients do you work with?
I work with individual adults and couples who are navigating questions of identity, spirituality, religious trauma, gender-affirming care, and deeper self-understanding. Many of my clients are LGBTQ+ (though not exclusively), are exploring inherited belief systems, or are drawn to therapy as a space for depth, reflection, and exploring the unconscious forces that shape their lives.
What therapeutic approaches do you use?
My work is primarily shaped by psychoanalytic thinking, meaning we explore not just what’s happening in the present but the deeper patterns, emotions, and experiences that have shaped your story over time. I also draw on relational, queer, decolonial, feminist, and anti-racist frameworks.
I have been influenced by other clinical approaches through study, supervision, and clinical experience, including Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). At times, I incorporate language or select interventions from these models—especially when it’s helpful to slow down, work more somatically, or support trauma processing.
This work often resonates with people who are curious about psychoanalytic theory, the unconscious, and how unspoken or unseen dynamics shape desire, relationships, and suffering.
Do you offer in-person or virtual therapy?
Yes. I offer both in-person therapy in New York City and online therapy for clients in New York and Florida. My practice is located in the Financial District on Broad Street.
How do I know if therapy with you is the right fit?
Therapy is most effective when you feel understood and supported. I offer a free 20 minute consultation to explore your needs, my approach, and whether working together feels right. At any time, you’re welcome to discuss ending therapy — I view endings as an important part of the process, not a failure.
What are your fees?
For individuals, $250 for a 45-50 minute session
For couples, my fee is $300 for a 50-55 minute session
A limited number of sliding scale slots are available.
Do you accept insurance?
I am currently accepting private-pay clients only.
If you have out-of-network benefits, I can provide superbills for reimbursement if your plan allows. Many clients are able to receive a significant portion of their session fees reimbursed by using Thrizer, a payment service that simplifies out-of-network claims and reduces the amount clients pay upfront.
Do you offer training or consulting?
Yes. I provide training and consultation for therapists, individuals, and organizations seeking to integrate gender-affirming care and spirituality into their work. My background in pastoral ministry includes teaching, preaching, group facilitation, and community leadership.
